Teams on Retool

Keep your Retool tools dependable as more of the business runs through them.

Retool puts tables, forms and approvals in front of a team quickly, on top of your own database and APIs. Tools that started as a weekend build often end up carrying orders, pricing and dispatch, with rules spread across dozens of queries and keys pasted into scripts. We tidy what you have, add the parts that are missing, and tell you plainly if a move to custom code would pay.

For operations and IT leads at companies of 5 to 1,000 people whose internal tools on Retool have become something the business depends on.

Before and after

What changes in a normal week.

Today

  • A price or status rule is repeated in several queries, and changing it means hunting for each copy.
  • API keys and passwords are written into queries in plain text.
  • A scheduled workflow was switched off months ago and nothing alerted anyone.
  • Outside users and new staff need access, and per-user cost and permissions both get harder.

After the build

  • Rules live in one place in the database or a shared function, and one change applies across the tool.
  • Secrets sit in Retool’s resource settings, out of the queries.
  • Scheduled jobs report when they fail or stop running.
  • Staff work in Retool, and customers or partners get a portal built for them.

What we build

The systems behind the change.

Built in your accounts, at a fixed price agreed after the audit. Builds start at $1,500.

  • A Retool clean-up

Queries consolidated, secrets moved into resources, permissions set by group, and the data model written down.

  • Your data in a database you own

Tables in Retool Database copied to Supabase, so the data outlives any one tool.

  • Workflows with alerts

Jobs on n8n or Retool Workflows that message a named person when a run fails.

  • A move to custom code, when it pays

Screens and workflows rebuilt in Next.js on the same data, run in parallel and switched over in stages.

How it starts

Three steps, each with a price.

  1. 01Discovery call

Thirty minutes on the work your team does by hand. Free, and you leave with a yes or no on fit.

  2. 02Automation Audit, $500

One to two weeks with the people who do the work. Each fix gets hours saved and a fixed price. Credited to the build.

  3. 03Build, from $1,500

Two-week sprints in your accounts, then 60 days of hypercare by the same engineers.

Questions

What people ask first.

Do you want us to move off Retool?

Not by default. We still build on it for internal users working with forms, tables and approvals. We moved three systems off it in 2026 because each had grown outside users and a lot of logic, and we wrote up what that involved.

What about the data in Retool Database?

We copy it into Postgres on Supabase with a one-way sync while the old tool keeps running, then check it before anyone switches. Nothing is deleted from Retool until you are happy.

What does a rebuild cost compared with a clean-up?

Builds start at $1,500 for a workflow, $3,000 for an internal tool and $5,000 for a multi-module system. The $500 audit tells you which one you need and fixes the price, and its fee is credited to the build.

Bring one process your team still runs by hand.

On a discovery call we look at how it runs today and tell you what it would take to change it, with a price. The call is free.
