Make month end a review of work already done.
Month end takes a week when reconciliation, supplier invoices and missing receipts are all left for the last few days. We move that work into the month: invoices read as they arrive, bank lines matched daily, and receipts chased while people still remember the purchase.
For finance leads and owners whose month end depends on one person and a pile of unmatched transactions.
Before and after
What changes in a normal week.
Today
- Supplier invoices sit in an inbox until the last week of the month.
- Bank lines for the whole month are matched by hand in one sitting.
- Receipts are chased from staff weeks after the card was used.
- Management accounts arrive halfway through the following month.
After the build
- Supplier invoices are read when they arrive and posted as drafts with the PO matched.
- Bank lines are matched each day, and the unmatched ones are listed for review.
- Staff get a message about a missing receipt within a day of the card payment.
- Month end is a review of exceptions, and the reports are built from the closed ledger.

- Receipt chasing

Questions
What people ask first.
Will our accountant be comfortable with this?
Matching follows rules your accountant agrees, and drafts can wait for their approval before posting. They keep full access to the ledger and to the log of what was matched and why.
What about the transactions that do not match?
They go to a review list with the closest candidates shown. In the first weeks that list is long, and it shrinks as we add rules for the patterns we see.
Is our financial data safe with you?
Everything is built in your own accounts with the access you grant, and we document which people and which workflows can read the ledger.
